U.S. Bank contributes to °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Foundation- U.S. Bank has been a significant contributor to Southern State, exceeding $16,000 in donations and resulting in numerous scholarships to Southern State students.
Carey to visit °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ to discuss business/education grant partnership- Chancellor John Carey of the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) will visit °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Monday, Nov. 23, to lead a roundtable discussion with RAPIDS Grant partners to discuss funding awarded to the region.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ band to perform Nov. 22 Veterans Day concert- The Southern State Community Band will honor our nation’s veterans with a Veterans Day concert 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ’s Central Campus.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Board of Trustees to meet November 18- The °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Board of Trustees will meet 12 noon Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the Community Center of °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Fayette Campus.
Free CMT Concert at °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ/Hillsboro on Nov. 12- Country Music Television is coming to °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ in Hillsboro for a free concert featuring Carly Pearce who recently was recognized as one of CMT’s 2016 Next Women of Country.

°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ students invited to Ohio Collegiate Leadership Summit- Two local college students have been invited to attend Propel Ohio, hosted by Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio. Propel Ohio is an Ohio Collegiate Leadership Summit to be held Oct. 16 at The Ohio State University Student Union.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Theatre presents "Becky’s New Car" Nov. 6-8- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Theatre will present "Becky’s New Car," at 7:30 p.m. on both Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7, and a matinee at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, in the Edward K. °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Basic Peace Officers complete training- The cadets of °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ’s Basic Peace Officers Training Program were recognized at a special ceremony held August 13 at the college’s Fayette Campus in Washington Court House.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Board of Trustees to meet August 19- The °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Board of Trustees will meet 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, in the Community Room on the college’s Brown County Campus, 351 Brooks Malott Road, Mt. Orab.
Engineering Co-Op now offered at Southern State- Learn. Work. Repeat. That’s the essence of °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ’s new Engineering Co-op Track which pairs students with local business partners.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter wins completion award- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ’s local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges, has been recognized regionally for highest profile completion on PTK’s scholarship website.
Allen signs Letter of Intent to play °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ basketball- Lynchburg-Clay High School graduate Tyler Allen has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ.
Wilson signs Letter of Intent to play °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ basketball- Fairfield High School graduate Joey Wilson has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ.

Earn an °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ degree in 18 months with new evening accelerated program- With °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ’s new accelerated associate degree programs, students can spend just two nights per week in class—and finish in 18 months.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ offers new six-weekend Real Estate program- A new accelerated program in Real Estate will be offered at °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ beginning in September.
Upcoming info sessions for °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ programs- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ is hosting informational sessions for several of its technical programs which are offered at both campus and offsite locations. The info sessions are being held at the locations where those programs are offered. Fall semester classes begin Aug. 24 and registration is now underway.
Wallace named keynote speaker for July 20-23 education conference at °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ- Dr. Teri Wallace has been named the keynote speaker for the seventh annual education conference, "Building Bridges," which will be held July 20-23, 2015, at Southern State Com-munity College’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.
Southern State announces new GED site in West Union- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ announces the opening of a new GED preparation site in West Union. Beginning in August, the college’s Adult Opportunity Center will offer its GED prep classes from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the West Union Church of Christ on 270 Lloyd Road (across from the high school).

Public invited to comment on °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ accreditation evaluation- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ is seeking comments from the public about the college in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Theatre presents "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" July 24-26- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Theatre will present "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," at 7:30 p.m. on both Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, and a family-friendly lite version at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, in the Edward K. Sellars signs Letter of Intent to play °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Basketball - West Union High School graduate James Sellars has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ.
Clark signs Letter of Intent to play °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Basketball - Blanchester High School graduate Braxton Clark has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ.

°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ’s Associate Degree Nursing program celebrates graduation- Forty-two graduates of °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ’s Associate Degree Nursing program were recognized during a recent pinning ceremony at the college’s Central Campus in Hillsboro.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ instructor wins state nursing educator award- A nursing instructor with °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ has been awarded the Excellence in Practical Nursing Education Award from the Ohio Organization of Practical Nurse Educators (OOPNE) at the state conference in March.

Dr. Randall to deliver °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ commencement address- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ is pleased to announce Thomas Randall, M.D., has been selected to deliver the commencement address for the college’s 40th graduating class. Commencement will begin 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, in The Patriot Center on Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro.

De Bruin, Prickett, Rudduck sworn in as °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ trustees- At the March 18 meeting of the °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Board of Trustees, Clinton County Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Rudduck presided over the swearing in of Brian De Bruin, Brian Prickett, and Kyle Rudduck, whose appointments fill the final vacancies on the college’s board.
