Auditions for °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Theatre's "I Hate Hamlet" will be January 15- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Theatre will hold auditions for the spring production of "I Hate Hamlet," by Paul Rudnick. Open to community members and students, auditions will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, in the Edward K. Nationwide exhibit, Anne Frank play coming to °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ- A national exhibit surrounding the life of Anne Frank will be open to the public at °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ's Hillsboro campus this October, followed by a production of "Diary of Anne Frank" at the beginning of November.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ announces honors lists for summer semester- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ has released its President's List and Dean's List for academic excellence for Summer Semester 2021. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average while carrying a specific number of academic credit hours. Those who achieve the Dean's List are full-time students who have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
Public Notice of Upcoming Accreditation Review Visit by the ACEN- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ wishes to announce that it will host a site visit for continuing accreditation of its Associate Degree Nursing program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Southern State Expresses It's Appreciation for Governor Mike DeWine's Commitment to Campus Safety- I cannot begin to imagine the pushes and pulls that any governor faces in establishing his or her priorities in a state's budget, but especially for a state as large and complex as Ohio, with the 7th-largest population and, literally, one of the largest economies in the world. The needs are enormous, so I'm always appreciative when a governor chooses to prioritize spending that will benefit a small college like °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ and the students we serve.

°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ awards WCH scholarship to Makayla Lingerfelt- The Washington C.H. Police Department presented its annual scholarship to Makayla Lingerfelt, a recent graduate of Miami Trace High School.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ's Associate Degree Nursing Program Celebrates Graduation- Thirty-eight graduates of °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ's Associate Degree Nursing Program were recognized during a May 6 pinning ceremony at the college's Central Campus in Hillsboro.
°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ awards Elks Scholarship to Macie Clifford- The Hillsboro Elks Lodge and the °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Foundation have announced Macie Clifford as the 2021 recipient of the Hillsboro Elks Scholarship.

Southern State & University of Cincinnati College of Nursing in Partnership- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ (°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ) and the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Nursing are signing a dual-admission agreement that will allow nursing graduates to seamlessly transition to UC's RN to BSN Online Program. Students applying to °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ's ADN program have the choice to simultaneously apply to the RN to BSN program and have their application and confirmation fees waived by UC. These students will be able to access UC resources and support while pursuing their degree at °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ.

°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Students Win "Best and Brightest" Honors, Named to the All-Ohio Academic Team- Five students at °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ have been honored with a place on the All-Ohio Community College Academic Team for 2021, joining 73 students from Ohio's community college system honored with scholarships for their excellence in academics, leadership and community service. A ceremony to recognize this year's award winners will be held virtually on April 29 as part of Community College Month in Ohio.

°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ's Boys Honored with International Phi Theta Kappa Award- °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ President Dr. Kevin Boys was recently honored with the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction, the most prestigious award for community college presidents.

Southern State student, Alyssa Mays, named Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar- Alyssa Mays, a student at °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ and senior at North Adams High School, has been named a 2021 Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar and will receive a $1,250 scholarship.

°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ to hold orientation for FREE GED preparation classes- The Adult Opportunity Center (AOC) at °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ is offering orientation in March for new or returning program enrollees in basic academic skills, GED preparation, and college readiness.

°ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ Teachers go back to school to expand Online-Teaching Skills- Hillsboro, Ohio - Four faculty members from °ÄÃŲÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼²éѯ have jumped at the chance to improve their online teaching skills by participating in a 25-week Effective Online Teaching Practices course offered in collaboration with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE).
